Kyle Shanahan Shares His Halftime Message with the 49ers in the NFC Championship

Before a stunning comeback victory, Kyle Shanahan had a very clear message at halftime.
At 24-7 at the half, the San Francisco 49ers appeared hopeless against the Detroit Lions, but head coach Kyle Shanahan knew just what to say on Sunday.
Telling the players, “Guys, it’s only 17 points,” and “There’s plenty of time to back,” Shanahan said to the media. In the midst of an NFC West championship, 12-5 record, and No. 1 seed, Shanahan stressed that “we’re not going out like this.”
In response, San Francisco scored 17 points in the third quarter to defeat the Lions 34–31 and tie the NFC Championship Game.
