Report: Another offensive assistant coach quits from the Patriots

On Sunday, October 29, 2023, in Miami Gardens, before the NFL football game between the New England Patriots and the Miami Dolphins, running backs coach Vinnie Sunseri enters the field.

It was always anticipated that the Patriots coaching staff would see significant changes this offseason. The team lost two offensive coaches on both sides of the ball on Monday, which demonstrated that.

The Athletic revealed that Patriots running back coach Vinnie Sunseri would also be joining the University of Washington staff, following the news that Steve Belichick would take a position as defensive coordinator there.

At the same time, Sunseri and Belichick had interviews in Washington. They will become a part of Jedd Fisch’s coaching staff. When Fisch was the quarterback coach in New England in 2020, they were both members of the same coaching staff with the Patriots. Fisch was named Washington’s head coach this season after leaving the Patriots to take a position as head coach at the University of Arizona.

along with three touchdowns and 642 yards. In addition to his 313 receiving yards, he led the Patriots in receptions (51).

The offensive staff of the Patriots has been reorganized by Jerod Mayo. He appointed Alex Van Pelt to be the Patriots’ new offensive coordinator last week. Ben McAdoo, the former offensive coordinator and head coach of the Giants, is anticipated to join the team. Additionally, Andy Dickerson is being pursued by the Patriots to become their new offensive line coach.

Mayo plans to appoint a new running backs coach in light of Sunseri’s departure for Washington.
