Sad News: New Alabama Offensive Coordinator Leaving For The…

Being the person to succeed Nick Saban as head coach of Alabama, Kalen DeBoer, had an extremely difficult task ahead of him.

But, since he lost Ryan Grubb, his longtime right-hand man, things have become much more difficult for him. Grubb traveled from Washington to Alabama with DeBoer, and he is currently the offensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks.

To start with, Mike MacDonald, the new head coach of the Seattle Seahawks, made a great hire with this. As a defensive coach, Macdonald needs a head coach who can lead the offense as he works to rebuild the defense of the Seattle Seahawks.

Even though Kalen DeBoer had high expectations after a legend like Nick Saban, the Alabama job is now much more difficult than it was in the past.

Since joining DeBoer in 2007, Ryan Grubb and the coach have collaborated extensively to develop their offensive philosophy. Although many people rightfully praise DeBoer as an offensive wizard, Ryan Grubb should also get a lot of the credit.

On the offensive line, that is largely responsible. Many offensive coordinators concentrate mostly on the quarterback and skill position. That’s where Kalen DeBoer is more focused. Grubb, however, is a long-time former offensive line coach. He is skilled at matching blocking schemes with concepts.

There are a lot of serious questions facing this Alabama squad up front. It’s obvious that they have talent. However, they lost both of their starting tackles when Kadyn Proctor transferred to Iowa and JC Latham left for the NFL. It goes without saying that DeBoer will be hurt by losing his top pick for offensive coordinator.

Coach Kalen DeBoer is great, in my opinion, and he’ll work it out. But this presents him with yet another challenge.
