DONE DEAL: Red Sox and former Yankees pitcher reach…

In Arlington, Texas, on August 23, 2011, before the Boston Red Sox team’s game against the Texas Rangers at Rangers Ballpark, the team was seen wearing hats and gloves close to the dugout.

To strengthen their bullpen, the Boston Red Sox have signed Lucas Luetge, a former pitcher for the New York Yankees.

The information was revealed by Luetge on his Instagram and X accounts. The left-handed reliever expressed his excitement about the move in a caption alongside a picture of the Red Sox logo.

“At seventeen, I’m returning to the Northeast! Proud to be a part of the Red Sox organization, Luetge wrote.

In his lone season with the Atlanta Braves last season, Luetge played in just 12 games due to a nagging biceps injury. A bloated 7.24 ERA and 1.76 WHIP over just 13.2 innings pitched were the results of the injury.

The former Rice University player had a totally different appearance in his two previous Yankees seasons. The lefty’s 2.71 ERA and 1.25 WHIP showed how dominant he was. In 129.2 innings pitched during his tenure with the Pinstripes from 2021 to 2022, the pitcher who will be joining the Red Sox struck out 138 batters.

In the 21st round of the 2008 MLB Draft, Luetge was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers. He’s worked in the minors for the most of his career. However, Luetge’s career has found a second life in his late thirties after dropping out of the majors in 2015.p
