Video of Ronnie O’Sullivan and Judd Trump’s conversation, which ended with the Rocket crying after winning the 2022 World Snooker Championship final, has surfaced. Before the two had a long embrace and O’Sullivan claimed his seventh title, the icon was overcome with emotion.
At the Crucible, O’Sullivan won an exciting match 18–13, but just after winning, he gave his opponent a lengthy hug in which he found it difficult to contain his excitement. The two greatest snooker players in the world have a great deal of respect for one another, as demonstrated by their embrace.
A year and a half after the historic victory in Sheffield, O’Sullivan’s documentary on Amazon revealed their conversation. O’Sullivan said to Trump, “Enjoy your snooker, don’t let them burn you out.” The Rocket assured him that he wouldn’t, and O’Sullivan went on, “Pick and choose.” Alright, you’re too good to let these f****** own you.
“Thank you for letting me practice with you,” was Trump’s next response. Everything, even the exhibitions. I genuinely appreciate that you took the time to speak with me. O’Sullivan responded, “Listen, you’re a good boy.” I’ll make time for you no matter what. I admire you; you’re a decent man, and your family is intelligent.”
Trump kept showering praise on everyone, saying, “Thank you, okay. I adore you, dude. Good job. Enjoy yourself, greatest accomplishment, all-time great player. Man, I f****** adore you. Fantastic work, man. F****** amazing. And so much laborious work.”
