Pape Matar Sarr, a midfielder for Tottenham, has stated that he wants to stay with the team as long as possible.
Last month, the Senegalese international formally announced his commitment to the team by agreeing to a new deal that would keep him there until June 2030.
Sarr paid a €16.9 million transfer fee to join Spurs from FC Metz in the summer of 2021. Prior to making his eagerly anticipated debut in North London in January of last year, he was loaned back to the Ligue 1 team until the conclusion of that campaign.
The 21-year-old is having a fantastic season under Ange, solidifying his place in the starting lineup alongside Yves Bissouma in the midfield. In his 20 league games thus far, he has assisted on two goals and scored three himself.
Being a part of things here at Tottenham is an amazing feeling. I’m glad I extended my contract with the team because it feels like a family to me now.
“My goal is to remain here for as long as possible in order to fully express myself on the field, take in the atmosphere with the fans, and continue to compete for trophies.”
“I try to savor every moment of every game.” I wanted to make this a season to remember for myself and all of us.
Says TBH:
Sarr wants to be a long-term member of Tottenham because he fits Ange’s style and is a valuable asset to the team.
