Jon Feliciano, an offensive lineman for the San Francisco 49ers, claimed on social media on Tuesday night that during the Week 13 match between the two teams, Jalen Carter, a defensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles, had threatened to “murder” him and brought up his children.
This was in response to Carter’s claim that Feliciano had been disparaging him regarding his deceased teammate from the University of Georgia, who had died in a vehicle accident in January 2023. Carter was the subject of an arrest warrant issued in March of last year after it was revealed that he witnessed the crash on January 15 and then gave police “shifting accounts” of what happened.
In March, Carter entered a plea of not guilty to misdemeanor charges of reckless driving and racing related to the collision. He was also sentenced to a year and a half of probation, a fine of $1,000, 80 hours of community service, and the requirement to finish a driving course.
If you dish it you gotta be able to take it. He talked about my kids, I made that reference. I lost a friend to an accident too so I understand why he was upset. I did feel bad thought about apologizing until he started posting my kids on his IG then I had to get NFL involved.
