Another injury: How can Tottenham manage without…

Spurs could be without two important players, full-backs Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie, as they prepare to play Wolves, this time hoping for a big victory. This Thursday was the team’s open training session, and the two defenders were conspicuously absent.

Udogie has scored a goal and provided an assist in each of the last three games, demonstrating his recent dominance. This season, Porro has also been outstanding, contributing eight assists as a right-back in league play and an incredible goal against Burnley in the FA Cup third round.

The players’ injury status has not yet been confirmed by the team. But even if everything is as bad as it seems, Ange still has a lot of options.

Ben Davies filled in for Micky van de Ven during his ten-game injury layoff earlier in the season, demonstrating his ability to play in Ange’s high-line. The left-footed Welshman could be a good choice to replace Udogie in what has historically been his preferred position given his success in an out-of-position center-back role.

With his remarkable speed, VDV could also play down the flank, giving Radu Dragusin, who signed in January, his first start in Lilywhite.

Emerson Royal would be the most likely backup on the right side of the pitch. This season, he has made 16 appearances for the North London club. Although his defensive cover may be lacking, his pace both on and off the ball and his attacking awareness can cause a lot of damage as he moves up the pitch.

Ange’s options for choosing the starting lineup would undoubtedly be hampered by the probable loss of the starters, but Tottenham still has a chance to halt Wolves’ offensive onslaught if they can add some veteran players to the bench and bring in reinforcements from the transfer market.
