Even with the addition of head coach Sean Payton, the Denver Broncos had a terrible first half to the 2023 NFL season, appearing to be a complete shambles and a carryover from the previous campaign.
Denver started to turn things around, winning six of the following seven games, despite the club still appearing like a trainwreck after losing five of its first six games and surrendering 70 points to the visiting Miami Dolphins at home.
Eventually, as planned, Payton was able to get this club back on track and into the AFC playoffs. However, over the closing stretch, things became problematic, as superstar quarterback Russell Wilson’s future with the team was once again called into question due to the team benching him.
Many people think that Wilson’s time in Denver may be coming to an end as he ends his second season on the bench for the Broncos. The two parties may decide to split ways during the NFL summer.
Even though Wilson’s career as the league’s top quarterback may have officially ended, he did demonstrate throughout the course of the previous season that he is still a capable player.
Nevertheless, as the dust settles with the Broncos during the offseason, there will undoubtedly be some suitors for his services.
