Another 49ers third-round selection that was squandered.
According to Adam Schefter, the Philadelphia Eagles are signing running back Tyrion Davis-Price to a future-reserve deal after he was cut from the practice squad. The Eagles have been stealing third-round running backs from the 49ers before. Trey Sermon did it the last time after being cut by the 49ers two years prior.
Obviously, the 49ers don’t see what the Eagles do in these players. In any case, the 49ers have thrown away yet another third-round draft selection. Since John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan took control in 2017, the 49ers have had trouble selecting reliable players in that round. They can only really take pride in Fred Warner as a player.
The instant Davis-Price was traded for Christian McCaffrey, his 49ers career ended. There was no chance McCaffrey was going to get any playing time after he joined the team. Davis-Price was limited to only one game this season, which was a blowout in Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys. He gained 21 yards on six carries.
Davis-Price has appeared in seven 49ers games since being selected, logging 40 carries for 120 yards and two targets. During his stint, he failed to find the end zone and did not record a single reception. The 49ers need to avoid selecting running backs in the first few rounds of this upcoming draft.
I do accept as true with all the ideas you’ve introduced for your post. They are very convincing and can definitely work. Still, the posts are too short for starters. May just you please extend them a bit from subsequent time? Thanks for the post.
