Defensive-line recruits Ratumana Bulabalavu, Noah Carter, Omar Khan, and Keona Wilhite were packaged together and signed national letters of intent by the University of Washington football team for almost three weeks.

This front four, albeit undervalued by many national recruiting experts, possessed a lot of potential for Montlake as a unit.

Then-Husky coach Kalen DeBoer stated at the time, “Moving into the Big Ten, these are the kind of guys you absolutely want on the football field.

This all-star group of prospects was, however, upended by DeBoer’s early January coaching move to Alabama, which sent Bulabalavu to USC, Wilhite to Nebraska, and Carter to the Crimson Tide. Khan was then left to try his luck with Jedd Fisch’s new Husky staff.

The 6-foot-3, 285-pound Khan is obviously a defensive lineman and a power guy, with an enormous lower trunk accented by extra-large thighs, whereas the others were recognized more for their athleticism.

His hometown of Cypress, which is located 24 miles northwest of downtown Houston, hosted the Texas state wrestling finals last weekend, where he flaunted his well-developed physique.

Competing at the top 6A level, Khan led Bridgeland High into the semifinals having gone undefeated in 44 games. However, he lost a memorable bout in a 3-2 tiebreaker to Jacob Henry, and he ultimately took third place in the heavyweight (285-pound) class.

Everyone in the audience undoubtedly observed this match take place.

When Khan took the mat against Henry, he was 45-0 and Henry was 36-0 from Austin’s Vandegrift High. The 6-foot-285-pound Henry, who is on a wrestling scholarship at Oklahoma, is the son of Mark Henry, a former powerlifter and prominent WWE contender who was once referred to as the strongest man in the world.

Even though he lost against the younger Henry by a narrow margin, the future Husky football player saw improvement in his entire performance.
