Dodgers Manager Name Two Pitchers That are Expected to…

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts disclosed that Michael Grove and Gavin Stone are anticipated to start for the team on Thursday in the Cactus League opener against the San Diego Padres.

Roberts had earlier disclosed that Yoshinobu Yamamoto, an offseason signing, would not start for the team in the Cactus League opener. But when the Dodgers play their opening game of the regular season in Seoul, Korea, Yamamoto is probably going to be one of the starters. In Korea, Tyler Glasnow is probably going to be the other starter.

Going into the 2024 season, Grove and Stone are two pitchers that require further experience.
After being selected by the Dodgers in the second round of the 2018 MLB Draft, Grove, now 27 years old, made his Major League Baseball debut in 2022. Grove had 18 appearances in 2023, going 2-3 with a 6.13 ERA and 1.48 WHIP. In seven appearances in 2022, Grove had a 4.60 ERA and a 1-0 record.

In May 2023, the 25-year-old Stone made his Major League Baseball debut. Last season, Stone had a 9.00 ERA, 1.90 WHIP, and a 1-1 record.

Getting these guys up to speed is essential because Walker Buehler, Blake Treinen, Daniel Hudson, and J.P. Feyereisen are just a few of the Dodgers pitchers returning from injuries. The Dodgers think the last three can return for the first game of the regular season.
