Kalen DeBoer is still transforming Tuscaloosa into a southeast Seattle. The hire of Courtney Morgan, a former colleague at Washington, as the Crimson Tide’s new general manager was revealed by Alabama football coach and first-year assistant on Friday.
According to the report, DeBoer stated, “Courtney is such an important part of our program.” “He is a vital component of our efforts to find and assess talent at the high school level and in the transfer portal. He has excellent relationships throughout the nation. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to welcome Courtney to Tuscaloosa since he is a key component of our goals at Alabama.
In addition to managing Alabama’s roster, Morgan will supervise internal brand management and the day-to-day operations of the program’s recruiting and personnel departments. For the previous two seasons, he worked under DeBoer as the general manager and director of player personnel for the Washington Huskies. Before DeBoer recruited him to Washington, Morgan served as general manager of the Wolverines for the 2021 season. Morgan played offensive guard at Michigan from 1999 to 2003. In 2020, he served in the same role under DeBoer at Fresno State. He previously worked at UCLA in the player development department.
