Final decision, the broncos head coach has signed in top player from…..
From the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, Broncos head coach Sean Payton stated on Tuesday that he expects a decision on Wilson to be made “within the next two weeks.”
The schedule makes sense since Wilson, who spent the last two weeks of the season on the bench, has a $37 million injury guarantee for 2025, which goes into full effect on the fifth day of the new league year. Wilson was benched down the stretch in part to prevent a devastating injury.
Owing to Wilson’s cap number and the significant dead money that will result from benching the quarterback, it makes sense to do this before the start of the next league year on March 13.
Although the writing has been on the wall for months, Payton failed to confirm that Wilson will indeed be released by the Broncos. Wilson recently stated that he hopes to win two more Super Bowls, one of them in Denver, on the I Am Athlete podcast.
When questioned on Tuesday, Payton claimed not to have heard the podcast.
The challenge now that Payton is starting his second season in Denver is to identify a long-term quarterback.
We ought to (discover the answer),” he remarked. Finding a quarterback in this league—which is clearly highly competitive inside our division—was the question. It’s essential, in my opinion.
I came over this hilarious image the other day, which features a Broncos fan drinking the quarterback Kool-Aid while his jersey bears the names of eight different quarterbacks crossed through it. It’s our responsibility to ensure that there isn’t a line through this one.
