This week’s Bahrain Grand Prix marks the beginning of the new Formula 1 season, but the inquiry into the manager of the winning team remains unresolved.

Christian Horner, the principal of the Red Bull team, has been the subject of an investigation for three weeks now due to allegations of misbehavior towards a team member. There is no timeframe specified for his future decision.

Senior F1 officials like Zak Brown of McLaren and Toto Wolff of Mercedes are putting pressure on the team’s parent corporation to handle the inquiry, which is being done by an outside lawyer, in a transparent manner.

Ford Motor Company CEO Jim Farley urged a resolution and expressed Ford’s frustration with the “lack of full transparency surrounding this matter” in a letter to the team. In 2026, Ford is expected to supply engines to Red Bull.

While announcing its investigation into Horner on February 5, the Red Bull beverage firm withheld any information. Horner has not been removed from his position and refutes any misconduct. He has remained the team’s spokesperson, announcing that “business as usual.”

Since Red Bull’s 2005 Formula One debut, Horner has led the team. He was much more noticeable during the car launch than either teammate Sergio Perez or three-time defending champion driver Max Verstappen. Last week, Horner spent three days in Bahrain participating in preseason testing.

Verstappen stated at the testing on Friday, “Of course, it’s nice when things are resolved for everyone.”
