His growing notoriety brought greater attention to his personal life and his connection with Brandt following his comeback and his selection as the starting quarterback for the 2023 campaign. In July 2023, the pair became engaged, and while Purdy worked to lead the 49ers to a Super Bowl, Brandt planned the majority of the wedding.

Nick Zakelj, an offensive lineman and former roommate of Purdy, gained attention among the scrutiny surrounding his personal life. Living off of his $889,252 minimum NFL salary, Purdy shared rent with Zakelj and drove a Toyota Sequoia while on the field.

Less than a month after the Super Bowl, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy married Jenna Brandt on March 9 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Since the afternoon service, pictures from their wedding at a Des Moines church have been circulating on social media. Since then, congratulations have flooded in from 49ers supporters.

Before Purdy transferred to Northern Iowa, they had already met as college students at Iowa State, where Purdy played football for the Cyclones and Brandt played volleyball for the Cyclones before moving on to the Panthers. As Purdy—dubbed Mr. Irrelevant—went on to the NFL as the last choice in the 2022 draft, the pair kept their relationship intact.

Purdy supported the 49ers when the chance arose in 2022, following the injuries of previous Niners quarterbacks Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo, despite his low draft status. Before suffering an elbow injury that ended his season, Purdy went 5-0 and led the 49ers to the NFC Championship Game.
