Every time the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers play, it’s an event not to be missed. The long-standing rivalry between two all-time greats, LeBron James and Stephen Curry, which always seems to bring out the best in each other, is largely to blame for this.
Many celebrities may be seen in the stands during a Lakers-Warriors game. On Saturday night, one of the greatest male tennis players of all time, Novak Djokovic, was inside the Crypto.com Arena watching the two teams battle.
After the game, Djokovic spent some time with Stephen Curry and LeBron James. He posted on Instagram to thank the Lakers and Warriors players and share his experiences.
Djokovic has always enjoyed the game of basketball in general. He has publicly expressed his respect for Kobe Bryant and how, throughout his career, he has used the “Mamba Mentality” to push himself. He even paid tribute to Kobe after capturing a record-tying 24 Major Championships. LeBron’s perseverance and commitment to staying dominant in his latter years have also earned praise from Djokovic.
James tried his best to fill in that specific evening when Anthony Davis had to exit the game due to an eye injury. LeBron finished with 40 points, 8 rebounds, and 9 assists, but it was insufficient as Curry scored 31 points to lead the Warriors, who defeated Golden State 128–121.
There’s always a connection between those truly elite athletes who have changed the game and it is clear that Djokovic has an immense level of respect for both LeBron and Curry and their continued ability to be amongst the best despite getting older.
Anthony Davis, D’Angelo Russell noticing LeBron James locked in for Lakers’ stretch run.
With a victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Monday, the Lakers were able to win again following their defeat to the Warriors. LeBron James once again excelled, recording a double-double of 25 points and 10 assists. Anthony Davis mentioned afterwards that LeBron plays at a higher level during this time of year.
