It is still possible that L’Jarius Sneed will be traded to the Tennessee Titans.
The Chiefs are allegedly receiving lowball trade offers, Sneed may want to join the Vikings, and most significantly, a possible trade with the Titans appears to have fallen through because of Sneed’s contract demands. It’s been quite the week for Sneed rumors. Tennessee is now making a comeback as a viable choice.
The Titans and Chiefs are once again in communication, maybe as a result of the market cooling on Sneed’s ambition to become the highest-paid cornerback in football.
Chiefs Rumors: Titans Are Supposedly Back in the Race for Lamar Jackson
According to the first rumors, the Chiefs and Titans were in talks about a third-round pick as payment. Interestingly, Tennessee does not own a third-round pick this year. However, it is likely that they plan to trade for one later on or give up many picks in exchange.
The Chiefs appeared to be satisfied with the salary, but negotiations were halted by Sneed’s high demand for a long-term contract extension.
The two sides are back at the negotiation table, though it’s unclear if Sneed is softening those demands. As the Chiefs attempt to win three straight, Kansas City has insisted that it is okay with Sneed playing on the franchise tag; nevertheless, it does not appear like Sneed plays a part in the team’s long-range strategies.
The story will probably go on for a few more weeks, although everyone involved probably wants it over with sooner rather than later.
