2024 NFL Draft McCarthy will be the first…

J.J. McCarthy of Michigan is expected to be one of the top quarterbacks chosen in the April 2024 NFL Draft. McCarthy, a proven winner who guided the Michigan Wolverines to their first college football national championship since 1997, is sure to catch the eye of NFL teams in need of a quarterback. McCarthy’s overall skill set, according to his former coach Jim Harbaugh, who left Michigan to take over as head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers, means he will likely be selected earlier than most people think.

Arm strength, agility, the “it” factor, and winning through mind-numbing repetition. When he is the best quarterback available, don’t be shocked, Jim Harbaugh stated on The Herd with Colin Cowherd on Friday. “At this moment, that is my prediction. J.J. has it when it comes to his ability to throw the ball, spin it, his athleticism, intelligence, and talk about it-factor. The fierce rivalry he possesses. An early projection for the 2024 NFL Draft is when they approach him and strike up a conversation.

McCarthy was a four-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class, fresh out of Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy. Regardless of position, the Illinois native was rated as the nation’s sixth-best quarterback and 38th-best recruit overall. McCarthy chose to enroll at Michigan rather than accept offers from numerous other universities, including Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, Miami (Fla.), Ole Miss, Michigan State, Ohio State, Purdue, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, USC, and Wisconsin.
